Av Lars Vilks - 16 augusti 2009 18:36

SIMON STARLING (ranking on artfacts: 191) was born in 1967 in Epsom England and is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, he was the recipient of the coveted Turner Prize in 2005 and was shortlisted for the Hugo Boss Prize in 2004. He currently lives in Berlin and is Professor of Fine Arts at the Staedelschule, in Frankfurt Germany. He has exhibited widely including the Biennial de Sao Paulo and the Busan Biennal in 2004 and he represented Scotland at the Venice Biennial in 2003. He exhibited in the international exhibition at the Venice Biennial in 2009.

He displays the end result of carefully planned processes, and although the viewer only sees a reconstructed object, they are encouraged to consider the story behind its construction and transformation.
